Terms of Service
Last updated 17 August 2026.
By using Claude Pay you agree to these terms.
Service
Claude Pay provides software that detects and confirms payments made directly to accounts and wallets you control, and notifies your systems via webhooks.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your API keys, webhook secrets, and 2FA credentials secure.
- Ensure the wallet addresses you configure are correct. We are non-custodial and cannot recover funds sent to wrong addresses.
- Comply with applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
Fees
Subscription fees are billed per the plan you select, payable in crypto through the platform.
Fraud prevention
We screen payments for fraud. We may refuse to start a payment where our checks indicate significant risk, and we will not always explain a refusal in detail — telling someone exactly which detail was recognised teaches them which one to change.
Reporting a customer
Claude Pay lets you block a customer on your own account, and lets you report one to us for the shared prevention list. These are different acts, and the second one is serious: it asks us to have other businesses refuse a named person.
If you report a customer:
- report only what you have first-hand evidence of;
- describe what actually happened — reports without specifics are rejected;
- never report someone in retaliation, or to disadvantage a competitor.
We record the outcome of every report you file, and an admin sees your history before deciding. Merchants who repeatedly file reports we reject may lose access to reporting.
Blocking a customer on your own account remains entirely your decision and affects nobody else.
Your obligations to your customers
Your customers' personal data is yours; we handle it on your behalf.
You must state in your own privacy policy that payments are screened for fraud, and that a customer's email address or IP may be checked against — and contributed to — a shared fraud-prevention service. Your buyers have no relationship with Claude Pay and will never read our policy, so this disclosure can only come from you. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for that processing under the law where you and your customers are.
Language
We describe an identifier as blocked or reported. Please do the same. Calling a named person a "scammer" or "fraudster" in your store, your messages to them, or your report states an allegation as fact, and the legal exposure for that sits with whoever says it.
Liability
The service is provided "as is". We are not liable for losses arising from misconfiguration, blockchain network issues, or third-party platforms (e.g. Binance).
